Located two hours from La Fortuna, the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge boasts an incredible array of wildlife. Along the way, you'll have the chance to spot various animals such as hawks, toucans, monkeys, and sloths, as well as learn about different crops like cassava, pineapple, sugarcane, and beans. Once at the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge, a local captain will take you on a two-hour boat trip on the river to observe wetland species such as great egrets, white-faced monkeys, caimans, kingfishers, and long-nosed bats. The experience concludes with a delicious traditional lunch.
